The history of Bavarian locomotive Class GtL 4/4:
In 1911 Krauss Factory from München built the first GtL 4/4 locomotive (road number 2551). Between 1911 and 1924 Krauss Factory built 100 of these locomotives (road number 2551-2650). When the Deutsche Reichsbahn (DRG) was formed, the locomotives became Class 98.8 and were numbered 98 801 to 98 900. Between 1927 and 1928 Krauss Factory built another 17 locomotives with road number 98 901 - 98 917. GtL 4/4 was very popular, that was to be found on many bavarian branchlines (Regensburg, München, Nürnberg, Augsburg, Ingolstadt, Schweinfurt, Kempten).Specifications:
