The history of Bavarian locomotive Class S 2/5:
In 1901, K.Bay.Sts.B. bought two Atlantic Express passenger locomotives (road number 2398-2399) from American manufacturer Baldwin. In 1904, Atlantic design was used by Maffei, who built ten locomotives class S 2/5 (road number 3001-3010). The locomotives were first resident with the German Federal Armed Forces Munich I and drew among other things as famous courses as the Orient Express and the North-South Express. When the DRG was formed, they took only five engines which became Class 14.1 and were numbered 14 141 to 14 145.
